'The Perfect B & B'
|
Travelled to Portugal with
Lorraine my wife and our 13 year
old daughter Alana. Spent 10
nights in total at Casa Das
Flores and can't recommend it
highly enough.
Carolyn and John are so
friendly and made us feel at
home all of the time. The food
was out of this world and we had
something different each night.
If you are travelling
through Central Portugal make
sure you make a point of
stopping over...You will not be
disappointed !!

'Simply the
Best'
|
|
Steve
and I received a very warm
welcome from Carolyn & John. All
rooms and bathrooms were
excellent - and the food was
outstanding. All together we
stayed six nights instead of the
planned two nights. We went off
cycling but kept coming back. We
are planning a return in 2010.

'Home from
Home'
|
We have
just returned from a short mini
break at this very clean and
comfortable B&B. Carolyn and
John are the perfect hosts, They
are very welcoming and nothing
is too much trouble. John even
taxied us down and back to Tomar
in the evenings for us to dine
with friends. We also took
advantage of their offer of an
evening meal which turned out to
be the best meal we tasted over
the whole weekend. What more can
I say other that we will
certainly visit them again. If
you want comfort , good food and
good company then this is the
place to go.

'Little Jewel
of a B & B'
|
A
overnight stop en route to
Lisbon, we should have stopped
for a longer spell!
In the tranquillity of the
Portuguese countryside this
"Little Jewel" of a B&B gives
the weary traveller everything,
we were very warmly welcomed,
made comfortable and more
importantly well fed. We even
had the pleasure of taking the
neighbours' dog for a walk in
the local village........ I
think it was the dog who walked
us around!
Many thanks John et Carolyn and
all best wishes for the future.

'We will be
returning next year for sure'

I have
just come back from a fabulous
relaxing holiday! Casa Das
Flores is the perfect place to
go if you need winding down! The
Proprietors Carolyn and John were
perfect friendly and fun in
their clean comfortable home
with a pool area to enjoy as
much as you liked to!
Food was excellent, catering for
my self a vegan and my husband a
vegetarian was no problem for
Carolyn who let me help her pick
the home grown veg first thing
in the morning!
We went on several walks around
the beautiful area of lovely
views where the locals always
wished you a good day. If we
wanted to go further we hired
bikes which were available. On
one occasion we rode to The
Aqueducts in Tomar.
The train station 2 minutes walk
away was there if needing to go
further afield though we were
happy enough to stay locally.
We learnt The Portuguese Waltz
at the local Festa and great fun
on the tombola!!
Just a walk away we chatted over
a beer with the friendly locals
who obviously adore Carolyn and
John.
We will be returning next year
for sure!!

'The finest
bed and breakfast in Portugal by far'
|
I have
visited Casa Das Flores on
numerous occasions and every
time I am greeted by the most
hospitable hosts, a wonderful
room with wonderful
surroundings, beautiful meals
which include home grown organic
fruit and vegetables. There are
lots of lovely places to visit,
or if you want to just enjoy the
nearby scenery there are lovely
walks or you can even borrow a
bike to use for the day to
explore. The hosts have lots of
information regarding places to
visit. There is a train station
at the end of the road with
links to Lisbon and Porto. One
word to describe Casa Das Flores
- FANTASTIC!

'Great Value'
|
We
stayed there one night and were
very happy with our experience: Owners were very friendly and
left us with a lot of privacy; Room was clean and bedding
was comfortable; Meals (breakfast and dinner
for 10 euro) were nice; Nice location: 15 min. drive
from Tomar, in a quiet little
village; Attraction: a big, long, high
aqueduct was on the way from
Tomar to the B&B. It was
absolutely beautiful in the
sunset surrounded by hilly
fields with olive trees and
vines and farmers working in the
fields; Great value

'Just perfect
- that's what our stay at Casa das Flores Bed & Breakfast was'
|
You may
as well be "Lost in a Sea of
Tranquility" when you visit this
tiny hotel / guest house just
outside Tomar. The Proprietors
John and Carolyn ensure a safe,
happy, and "well fed"
experience. The surroundings are
quiet yet close enough to all
the hustle and bustle of the
nearby market town of Tomar.
The rooms are kept in tip top
condition and have balconies
overlooking the unspoilt
countryside. Perfect for that
after dinner drink. Should the
weather be inclement (as it was
with us) then retirement to the
lounge is in order snuggling up
to a roaring log fire.
We spent many an hour just
walking in the countryside
soaking up the ambiance of the
place. The locals are so warm
and friendly, indeed one day we
were invited into an old chaps
house to sample his home made
Port, how could we refuse, such
a wonderful holiday experience.
Dinner is an optional extra at
Casa Das Flores and well worth
every Euro the local produce
cooked in that home made style
that you had forgotten existed
comes flooding back and then
washed down with local wines,
sheer bliss.
The pool and sun lounge area to
the rear is perfect for reading
a book that you promised to
finish, and if its hot then a
plunge in the pool is perfect.

'We're looking
forward to returning'
|
This
hotel is a credit to its owners
who have lovingly restored this
house thinking about the
requirements of its visitors.
The hotel has only been open a
year and is building up a good
clientele, they have installed a
dipping pool and have decorated
the bedroom tastefully including
dressing gowns which were
appreciated during our stay in
November.
We had lovely breakfasts which
included porridge with apple and
cinnamon and boiled eggs (very
freshly laid!) and freshly baked
bread.
We opted for 4 nights dinner and
at 10 euros for 3 courses
including a glass or two of wine
it was well worth it, especially
knowing that Carolyn the owner
is a trained chef you can
imagine what fantastic food was
served up.
Casa Das Flores is only 10 minutes drive
from the centre of Tomar and
only a minutes walk from
Fungalvaz station which can take
you to Lisbon and Porto
We are looking forward to
returning when the weather is
better next year and then we can
use the pool and patio area and
also discover a part of Portugal
which is very unspoilt.

'Nothing was
too much trouble'
|
|
We stayed at this lovely bed & breakfast for 4 nights. It is
perfectly located for touring this part of Portugal. It's in a
totally unspoilt small rural village just a 10 minute drive from
Tomar.
Our main reason for coming to this area was to visit the amazing
annual horse fair held in Golegă and this accommodation was only a
short drive away. This family run business provides immaculately
clean accommodation with an excellent breakfast which sets you up
for the whole day. A good home cooked three course evening meal with
wine can even be provided at a very reasonable cost.
We spent 10 days travelling in Portugal and this accommodation
provided us with the most comfortable beds during our stay. Nothing
was too much trouble and we were made to feel very welcome.
